Clear the Air

Based on the few comments on here and facebook and the couple of phone calls I received....I guess I need to clear the air as to what exactly is going on in our life.

Stan worked in North Dakota just for a couple weeks while he was waiting for a spot in Alaska to open up. We are not relocating to North Dakota. He is now working outside of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska on the pipeline and will hopefully be home the end of this month. The kids and I will be staying put for awhile until we make sure this is going to work for our family (so no move yet) Stan will be doing a few weeks in Alaska and then a couple of weeks at home.

I know that Stan misses the kids like crazy and they of course miss him as well. We have tried to stay busy with summer activities and that has helped pass the time for us.

Well I hope this clears a few things up. Maybe the next post will actually include some pictures.

Life is just funny isn't it? We had plans for Stan to work in Alaska and now he is in North Dakota, I'm still not sure how that happened and I'm sure many of you are wondering what is going on. I promise I will fill you in on all the details soon but it seems like a long story right now.

The funny thing is that I am very much at peace with everything that is going on. I'm not going to lie, I've had a few freak out moments the last couple of weeks when things didn't go as planned. I really am trying to keep it all in check, do you do that?

For Spring Break we took a trip to Canada to visit Stan's grandparents and Aunt & Uncle's. What a great time!! The kids were so thrilled to visit a different country and absolutely fell in love with Auntie Jane (and family). It was such a great time for us all.

Girls Weekend, Fish and Graduation

Seems like we have had nothing and everything going on all at once. Does anyone else ever feel that way?

The boys went away for the Memorial Weekend on a camping trip, leaving us girls alone. We had a great time painting nails, going on a date, painting shirts....Teagan told me "I wish the boys would go away more often"

We have been doing some spring fishing. We have made several camping trips as a family, one day trip and we are headed off again this weekend in the motorhome.

Teagan had her kindergarten graduation last night. My how time really does go fast! She did excellent and it is so fun to see how she has changed this year.

Blake and Penelope are doing great. Blake can not wait to start kindergarten in the fall...it may be a long summer. Penelope is growing up and turning into an all out kid.

We will find out in two weeks what this next baby is....I'll keep you posted.

I'm sure if anyone actually checks this anymore they will be amazed to see a new post.

It seems facebook, emailing, three kids, a new puppy and the rest of life has gotten the best of my blogging days. But I'm really going to try and start posting again.

We have had lots and lots of changes since July (my last post) and I think it is rather pathetic that I posted just after Penelope's 2nd birthday and now she is almost three.

Some new things in our lives are; Stan is in school full time, I'm pregnant, we have a dog, we are going to be an aunt and uncle (thanks to Stan's sister and her hubby), we have been doing lots of work on our house, I'm now a Head Volleyball Coach (not just an assistant), we are the proud owners of a motorhome, I think the list could go on but I'll stop there.

The kids are doing great. Teagan is thriving in kindergarten and turning into such an amazing little lady. Blake is enjoying some nicer weather and the fact that he is the "big" kid at home from 8-3 while Teagan is gone. He has totally enjoyed bird watching and coyote hunting with Stan lately. Penelope is talking so much and becoming her own person. I'm not sure I'm ready for her to have an opinion but it's here whether I like it or not.

So for those that aren't on facebook I have just finished this little fitness challenge at my local gym. I am already having a hard time staying motivated to continue with my daily workouts. So, I found some upcoming races in the Klamath Basin that I would like to run in. Now, if you know me at all you know that, I am not a runner. This is something that does not come natural to me and I really have to force myself to do it. However, I know that it is a great way to stay in shape and it's fun to participate in some of these local events.

Here's the list-

Lake of the Woods-15k or 2 mile
Ralph Hill-5k
Crater Lake Rim Run-6.7 miles
Moore Mountain Trail Run-Half Marathon (this one isn't until mid-Sept. so I have a little more time to get in shape for it)

Yikes, has it really been so long since I blogged?

I guess so, maybe it's all the facebook craze that has kept me from posting.

The kids are all doing great. Teagan is in her last few weeks of preschool, Blake is praying for better weather so he can play baseball more and Penelope is enjoying whatever life brings her way.

Stan and I are doing good. He has been enjoying his brand spankin' used fishing boat. I think we are all ready for summer or something other then cold. We are excited for camping, fishing and bbq.

Hopefully, I will update more often.

Our trip to California last month was great. We had fun at Disneyland, California Adventure and San Diego Zoo. We also had a chance to see Stan's brother and some of my family.

We have been back in the normal routine of life for a few weeks. Stan started a new job, which has been fantastic and I have been working out a lot. I'm in a fitness challenge at our local gym and trying to get in about two hours a day there.

We are looking forward to some spring weather in the next couple months.

This was an early Christmas present that Stan got for the kids. It's a sled that resembles a snowmobile. I wasn't sure about it when the box said to wear a helmet. As you can see we always follow the rules! The kids LOVE IT......Stan is pulling them behind the quad in these pictures and I love how Teagan has time to wave!

Well, here we go. My effort at a real post, the first in months.

The kids are (of course) counting down the days until Christmas. Teagan keeps reminding us that it is not just about presents, however, she would really like her own kitchen, tie shoes and a REAL Goldfish. Blake wants baseball "stuff", especially a catchers helmet and glove and Penelope doesn't have a clue whats going on but she likes to play in the Christmas tree.

We are trying to settle in to our house. It would probably go better if I would stop painting, but I'm not settling on a color I don't like. So, that leaves one option...repaint. I am almost done...just one stretch down the hallway. Then I will finally finish my Christmas shopping. We picked a crazy time to move in...not only are we swamped with holiday things...just moving in and finishing projects has consumed us. Which will lead me into letting everyone know that we are not sending out Christmas cards this year. I decided we would do a Happy New Year (or it may even turn into Happy East) cards. Things are just too busy and I thought it would be one big thing I could cross off my list.

We are really enjoying being back in Klamath. (We do miss our friends in Hermiston) Things seem to be working out really well and I am SO excited that we are not traveling this holiday season.

Stan has been busy with work and things at home. He has put down beautiful wood floors in our house! He is so good at projects he really does great work.

I have been painting and doing lots of Christmas things. I have also been helping coach a basketball team which I am loving! It is so nice to be involved in a hobby/sport that I really enjoy. I am coaching with my old high school coach so it is really a kick!

Ok, well I think that is the best I can do for now. I'll have to work my stamina back up for this serious bloggin' stuff.

So I'm sure this is the most lame update to do since I haven't posted anything in nearly three months. But...this is all I can manage right now.

We are doing great! Teagan is loving preschool, Blake is loving Teagan being in preschool and Punky is just loving life.

We should be moved into our new house in the next week and then I promise I will post on a regular basis. Although, I'm not sure if anyone even checks our blog anymore. (If you do could you leave some kind of comment so I don't update it for myself)

So....in a nutshell....we will be settled (finally) in a couple weeks.

I decided today is the day I am going to update the blog. We have some great pics from some summer that I have yet to post....so we'll begin with a wedding back in June. Speed Bump

So we have hit a speed bump in our "plan". Last week we had two great offers on our house, this week we are back to no offers.

Isn't it funny how we say God is good when everything is coming together just liked we had hoped and prayed. And then the second things start slowing down, turning the other direction or even stopping we begin to doubt.

I start doubting myself, my plan, my wisdom and worst of all I start doubting God. Why is that?

I know, I know. It's because we are human. But seriously when is my faith really going to grow? When am I really going to let go of my plans and my desires and trust Him completely? Will I ever? Will this battle continue all the days of my life?

I'm sure God rolls his eyes at me when I begin to let worry, fear and doubt creep in. Just like when my kids don't trust me....I laugh at them. Where is their faith? Don't they know I am their mother? I would never put them in harms way.

Maybe I need a timeout. Maybe I need a good whoopin'. Or maybe I just need to grow up in God!

I found this quote by Martin Luther King Jr. "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."

This step of faith that we have taken is a big one. It might end up being steeper, longer and harder then we thought. I can either keep going up or fall back down, however, I have a feeling that to get where I want to be I'm going to have to climb those stairs sooner or later.

Whoa! What a whirlwind these last couple weeks have been. So much to post about but first I would like to tell all of our friends and neighbors in Hermiston THANK YOU!!

We had so much help packing and loading our UHAUL, what a blessing!

And to all of our friends that stopped by, invited us over and wished us well, THANKS!

These last two years have been, well, strange. We have never lived in limbo and uncertainty for so long. (I promise we are not as unstable as it may have appeared)

We are so happy to have a direction and be working towards a goal. What a great feeling that is!

So, to all of my Hermiston friends, thank you all for the impact you have had on my life. Whether big, small, in person, via blog, daily, monthly, often or not you all have left a footprint on my life path. I will never regret my time there and all the amazing people I met.

Once again I have been really bad at blogging but I will try and catch everyone up on what's going on.....

-We are in Klamath Falls.
-Stan is in school full time and working part time.

-The end of July we will be in Hermiston to pack up our house.

New things coming

It seems like I'm saying this all too often lately but.....where has the time gone? I can't believe we are well into June...and where is the summer weather?

It's been tornado alley here lately. The kids pool has now been deflated because 1) it's been too cold to play in and 2) it was flying into the neighbors yard due to our blustery wind.

We had a little early bday get together for Penelope and her/our friend Mya. They are only one week apart (and we won't be here for their actual bdays) They are complete opposites....Mya has a ton of hair, Penelope not so much. Penelope is a lot of chunk and Mya is a tiny little thing. They are sure cute though.

Things are really changing for us. Friday is officially Stan's last day of work, YIKES!!! Sunday he will be leaving for Klamath Falls while the kids and I stay here. Stan will be spending the first few days next week getting things set up at school and hopefully securing a job. Yes, you read it right, he is going back to school. WOWZERS, you say, we have been talking about this for a long time it is just a big step for us. How does the only provider of a family of five quit his career and go back to school? Well, there are lots of details that I will spare you from, I will simply say that we feel like God is with us in our journey and we are excited to take this step of faith.

The kids and I will head to KTown around the 24th of June. We are hoping to have an offer on our house by then. We have dropped the price again.....so we have reduced the price by $30,000....somebody is going to get a great deal! So once again, if anyone knows a buyer in the Hermiston area give us a shout.

We are SUPER excited to have a plan and be taking action. It has been quite the journey the last couple years. We know we will be able to look back with much wisdom and see all of the lessons we learned.

We had a fantastic weekend at Wallowa Lake!! We had never been there before and we were amazed. It is breath taking! We had a wonderful time exploring, fishing, playing and just being a family. The kids loved our cottage that we rented (they called it our "cottage cheese") and had a blast seeing all the wildlife. It was a great family weekend!

The kids loved the hot weather we had a couple of weeks ago. Even Punky got in on the sun bathing! We have been busy with lots of visitors, getting the house in tip top shape to show and hopefully sell, yard work, fun and work.

Stan's fishing trip was canceled last weekend, total bummer for him, but I took advantage of having him around for an extra day. We moved a lot of furniture around (thanks to my good friend Rachel that was visiting) and even managed to get a little fishing in with the kids. Blake loved reeling the fish in but Teagan would scream and run away. Of course, I didn't have my camera. I'm having issues with it! I think, actually, it's the battery charger and not my camera.

I'm hoping we have a really good thunder storm!! I'm loving this rainy weather!!! Maybe we'll even make cookies today....I'm sure my thighs would love it.

I love days like today!! The fresh smell of the warm spring rain is awesome. It makes me want to clean and organize everything in my house (which is not something that comes natural to me, hehehe). Days like today recharge my batteries!

We dropped the price on our house by $15,000. We are very serious about selling now. I think dropping the price is a good plan, especially right at the start of buying season. So, to all of our local Hermiston peeps, if you know someone looking to buy a house let us know!

We are also selling our Hiker. It's a great piece of equipment but it is a beast in size and we really don't want to move it. If anyone is interested let me know, they are not cheap but well worth the money.

Slippin' Away

Once again I haven't been great at posting. It seems like time is just slipping away and with all the great weather who wants to sit at the computer?!

Since our last post; the kids and I traveled down to Klamath to visit my Grandma; we had two sick kiddos for a week; my mom came to Hermiston Mother's Day weekend; we had a fairly successful garage sale; had a really rough experience at the dentist office with Teagan (now she'll have to be sedated); put a fantastic kids pool in the backyard so we could cool off in our 95 degree heat and Stan's parents visited a couple of days ago.

This next week Stan is heading to Idaho on Thursday for a guys fishing weekend. I think he is excited and I am excited for him. He needs a break!! While he is gone my good friend, Rachel, is coming to visit. It will be a great weekend for all.

I will post some pictures of the kids in their pool. They are already tan and have that healthy summer glow. Penelope will be one next month.....WOW.....time really does fly by.

Ok, I really think I have the cutest kids (when they aren't talking)! Blake has been a real stink lately!! Yesterday he tells me "Mom, I'm going to knock your head off." and this morning he is singing "Mommy, Mommy I don't love you"

I tell you, I'm feeling the love around here!

Teagan has a cute new hair cut. You can't really see it in the picture but it's a real cute bob. She is loving it and doesn't pass a mirror without taking a chance to admire herself.

Penelope is still the sweetest baby!! She isn't crawling yet (thank goodness) but she rolls all around the house. We are really enjoying the stage that she is in.

We are once again in a waiting season. We have to do something fairly soon because Stan's job here is coming to an end. Three guys were laid off on Friday so everyone now feels like they are walking on thin ice there.

We are SO ready for a change once and for all. We hope to have some new and exciting news soon....if we don't we'll just have to have another baby! hahahaha!!

So I updated our blog a little and rearranged a few things. It feels good! It's sorta like your living room....it just needs a little face lift sometimes. I won't be blogging on my own site anymore, too much effort with too little news. Hopefully, that will mean this blog will be more interesting and up-to-date.

We've got some things going on in the near future, I just can't go into detail yet. And NO, we are not pregnant again. We will keep you all posted on what is going on when we can. Until then, just keep praying for God's clarity in our life.

What's Next?!

As many of you know we have been waiting to hear from the Oregon State Troopers about a job for Stan. Well, we received an answer yesterday.....it's a no.

It's one of those bitter-sweet things! We are a little disappointed that he did not get offered a trooper position, however, we are so relieved to finally have an answer.

We don't know what direction we are headed next. We will have to take some time to think, talk and most of all pray about things. We are excited for whatever is next in our lives and we are looking forward to planting roots....somewhere!

Teagan started soccer last Saturday and I have to say, it wasn't her best performance. Now, I don't care if she is some super star but I do want her do enjoy herself....she looked like she was about to bust out in tears the entire time. It cracked me up because we play soccer all the time at the park and she is fierce! We showed up at her first practice though and she acted like she had never seen the game of soccer before. I'm hoping, for her sake, that this next week goes better.

Eyes of a Child

I had to blog some quotes from the kids over the last week. (mainly so that I won't forget what they have said)

Teagan has been saying the sweetest things to me! While painting her nails (is that a love language?) she looks "Mom you're perfect" That was an upgrade because last week when I painted them she said I was "neat".

She did break my heart last night....she got out of bed (again) after she had been told several times to stay in her bed and go to sleep, this is not an uncommon scene at our house as many of you know. So, I went for the spanking spoon (gasp, yes we spank our kids) as I tried to bend her over my knee she yells out "Mommy, your beautiful and special and I don't want you to be mean to me." WHATEVER!! I totally think that was a cheap shot, how I'm I suppose to spank her after that?

Now Blake on the other hand said a not so cute thing. He comes down stairs yesterday after his nap chewing on something. I looked at him and said "Hey pal, watchya chewin' on?"

"A booger" was his calm reply........eewwww!

Ok...so now the final one was a real eye opener for me and Stan. Last week we were watching the girls perform on American Idol. Stan thinks Teagan looks like one of the girls on the show....Teagan was downstairs and he said "Come here and watch this, sweetie, there is a girl on tv that looks like you" Right after he said that Syesha (spelling?) took the stage. Now for those that haven't seen the show Syesha is a beautiful girl but looks nothing like Teagan (she is black with a super cute 'fro) Teagan looked straight at me and said...."Her, momma?!" and she was totally serious.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could see the world thru the eyes of a child.

Today is a little busy trying to get the house "perfect" for a second showing. It's almost impossible to keep it perfect with all the kids here but I'll just do the best I can.

I did have a few minutes while I'm letting the cleaner in the bathroom soak to post a few pictures of the kiddos. We had some friends over yesterday for a playdate (aka. sanity break) and they all wanted to watch a movie. I really don't like entertaining with the TV but sometimes it's nice when all the kids are quite and the mom's can talk.

The next pics are just breakfast this morning, I couldn't help but take some pictures when I saw Teagan and Blake wearing their hats.

Long time no post

I just realized how long it's been since our last post. We've been doing good and enjoying the nicer weather. This weekend was fantastic!! The kids were actually out in shorts...I didn't go that far but definetly enjoyed the sun! My brother and company were here for the weekend so here's a few pics from that. The Calm After the Storm

Well we have been home now for a week and we are settling back into the daily grind. It always seems overwhelming coming home after we have traveled down to Klamath Falls for a long stay. We did have a great Christmas and enjoyed the time we had visiting with family and friends, it is just a lot of work traveling back and forth!! (I am not complaining, I really feel blessed that we can do that!)

We waited until we got home to have Christmas with just our family. It was fun and the kids were professionals at opening gifts by this point.

Teagan and Blake both received a Leapster game thingy. It is pretty cool! They look so grown up sitting with their little video games.

Penelope turned six months old and is trying out a little bit of food. She isn't too thrilled!!!

We still have our house for sale and we are looking foward to a big change in this next year. We will keep everyone posted.

We have just been enjoying everyday life around here. We are almost done with all of the Christmas shopping, wrapping and stuffing. We will be leaving on Sunday, the 23rd, to go down to Klamath Falls for the week. I am very excited!! The kids are excited too. Blake is demonstrating excellent self-control with the presents under our tree, you can see the anticipation eating at him everytime he walks by the tree. Teagan can't wait to see all of our family down in Klamath and Penelope, well, she is just happy!

Can you believe it is Christmas time again?? How did this year go by so fast?!?! We have had a good few weeks, most of it filled with delight and fun times.

We did have some tragic events on November 16th. Stan's cousin, John, was killed in a car accident while on duty with the California Highway Patrol. He lived in Lodi, CA with his wife, Stephanie and two kids, Chandler, 4, and Reese, 2. Stan was able to fly down to California to spend time with his family down there and attend the funeral. We are so proud of John and the man that he was. And we are so proud of Stephanie for the strength that she has!! She is an amazing woman!! Please keep them in your prayers.

Now, we did enjoy Thanksgiving in Newport, Oregon. We met my mom and grandma there and spent a few days in a condo with a great view of the ocean. Penelope enjoyed her first swimming experience in the pool and Teagan and Blake loved being at our "beach house".

Yesterday we took the kids sledding. I think Stan and I had more fun laughing at the kids then the kids had actually sledding. Blake did not like the snow blowing in his face at all!!

We are traveling down to Klamath Falls for Christmas again this year. We are excited for the season and to see friends and family. We hope everyone else is enjoying this blessed time of year!

Oh My!!

Those were my only and exact words Wednesday morning. I woke up to Teagan at my bedside saying "Mom, Blake tried to pee and it's coming out of the toilet!" So I ran up stairs to see why Blake was crying and nearly broke my neck running into the bathroom. The bathroom floor wasn't just wet, it was flooded!! Blake had tried to use the toilet by himself and put nearly an entire roll of toilet paper in it. Then he continually held the handle down trying to flush it....did I mention this is the upstairs bathroom?!?

So....I scrambled to turn the water off to the toilet and grabbed a plunger. I grabbed every towel upstairs and mopped up. Then when I came back down stairs to get more towels I heard a gushing noise. Not good is all I could think.....and then before my very eyes water started pouring out of one of the can lights in our kitchen downstairs. Oh my gosh....oh my gosh. That was all I could say!!! I grabbed a five gallon bucket from the laundry room and put it on the counter to catch the water pouring from the ceiling. Then called Stan!!!

So this would be the gate blocking off the kids to the upstairs.
This would be the hallway upstairs that had to be torn up because the water ran out of the bathroom into the hall.

And this would be the light (first light on the right) that the water was pouring out of downstairs.

Thankfully, the damage was minor (it could have been much worse!)

Disney on Ice

This last weekend I was able to take Teagan and Penelope to Disney on Ice. It was great! We went with our friends Cara (the mom) and her two girls, Kaylee and Mya, who are the same ages as my girls. We traveled to Yakima, WA which is about 100 miles from here. It was really fun especially for the kids. Teagan was very excited that Tinkerbell and Mickey and Minnie were there. Her favorite princess was Cinderella (of course) and she was the very last princess to come out.

While we were at the show Stan and Blake went fishing out on the Columbia River. They didn't have luck catching fish but they had a great time.

Penelope is four months old now. I can't believe how fast the last four months has gone by. She is such a wonderful addition to our family. She is full of smiles and giggles which is really fun for Teagan and Blake. Her newest "thing" is sucking her thumb.

I can't believe it has been over two months since our last post. Much has gone on since then....I'll just hit some of the more exciting things though. Since our last post we've had Stan's birthday, a good friend's wedding (Stan's friend married my friend and we had nothing to do with it), Teagan's birthday, two trips to Klamath Falls, one knee surgery for Stan (he's doing pretty good) and my mom sold her house of 24 years and moved into a new one.
All three kids are doing great. Teagan is enjoying being the big 4 year old, Blake can't wait until his birthday....he keeps repeating "I be free (3) in January"....and Penelope is nearly 4 months old already! She is at such a fun stage...she laughs, smiles and isn't mobile! It's great!!
I am looking forward to the fall weather and all that fall brings. I love this time of year! I'm hoping to get some projects done in the house. Things like organizing pictures and closets! We still have our house for sale...we aren't sure what is going to take place. We are just trying to be patient and rest knowing that God has a great plan for us. Why is that such a hard thing to do??

I can not believe it has been a month since our last post. Time really has flown by this summer. We have been good....busy...like everyone else I'm sure....but good. We just returned home on Tuesday from a trip down to Klamath Falls. We went down for Shelly's, Stan's sister, wedding. It went great and Shelly and her new husband, Chris, are in Hawaii right now for a well deserved honeymoon. I was one of the bridesmaids and Teagan and Blake were the flower girl and ring bear. They did good and took their jobs seriously. Especially Teagan, she could become a professional flower girl!

We sold our suburban finally! We really loved it but the cost to drive it was UGLY! It was a great car for us other then the price of a fill up. Every time I drove it to WalMart I could her money falling out of it. We had it up for sale for about four months so it was nice to finally sell it. So now I am officially a mini van mom! YIKES...it makes me feel old, but I have to say, I LOVE my mini van. We did quite a bit of research on them and decided to go with the trusted Honda Odyssey. We bought a used one...but it's in great shape and only has had one owner. I told Stan I don't think I'm as cute driving a mini-van (no offense to other mini van moms) but I'm so happy to be saving all the gas money! Maybe I'll take all that extra money saved and buy a cute new outfit or two that will make me feel better!

Yesterday we had our first Urgent Care visit. Blake and Teagan were playing and Blake ended up cracking his head open.(I think it was caused by a violent, yet playful, push from Teagan) He some how hit something hard on the couch (can you tell they are always well supervised?) and split the back of his head open. It really wasn't too big but it was wide enough that I didn't think it would grow back together very well. So, I loaded up all three kids (after I sprayed Resolve on the blood stained carpet) and off we went to the doctor. Thankfully, he didn't need stitches just some glue.

Stan and I will celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary on Sunday. It's hard to believe it's only been seven long, long years. Just kidding!! I keep teasing him that I've been feeling itchy lately. He just attributes that to all of the spit up on my shirt and my lack of showering. Actually, I feel blessed to have shared the last 7 years with Stan. He is a pretty great guy!

We are excited to settle into our everyday life now that Penelope is here. Thanks to all of our family and friends for the prayer, support, love and blog posts that have been so thoughtful! We feel so blessed to have you all in our lives.....even if some of it is only via internet.

Hey everyone! Angie survived another epic delivery. Pretty much 36 hours of contractions. I am happy to say Mom and Baby are doing fantastic. Baby...what baby!!!
Hooray. Penelope 'Punky' Jane Miller was born June 30th at 11:20 p.m. Angie had a running joke around the house that because we had nicknamed her punky she would be born Chunky punky. Thankfully for Angie, Punky weighed in at 7lbs 11 ounces. Baby pics are coming soon.

Well....I'm still pregnant. I am feeling really good! It's kind of odd...last week I was pretty uncomfortable and couldn't wait to deliver. This week I feel good and have realized we are having another baby, YIKES! I'm ok staying pregnant a little longer....at least I can sleep pregnant (especially with my Tylenol PM).
There are some more pictures of the family on the link in the previous post. That is the photographer's blog and she should be emailing me the rest of our proofs soon. It was fun having some family pictures done. We never have before so I figured we were due.
So I am going in tomorrow to be induced. No more delivery date guesses now, huh?! Hopefully, I can get right in at my scheduled 7:30 time slot (as long as they are not too full with other a patients) I feel like I'm reserving a spot at a restaurant. "Call ahead to make sure we aren't full....if we don't have a table for you here is your beeper" It's kind of strange....maybe it's just because I've never been induced before.

Well, let's just start by saying I was shocked that Melinda didn't make it to the finals on American Idol. She has been my favorite all season, however, I'm sure this won't stop her from having a mega career.
We don't have anything new really going on. My due date is about seven and a half weeks away. I had a doctors appointment and ultrasound yesterday that went good. Tomorrow I have to go for an NST (non stress test), and then starting next week I will go twice a week. Every Tuesday for an ultrasound, NST and Dr.'s appt. and then every Friday for another NST. So from now until the baby comes I have lots of appointments. All of the appointments are just to monitor everything because of the two vessel cord.
The kids are doing good. Teagan is really giving us a run for our money lately! She is so strong willed and way too smart! Whenever I scold her she looks at me and says "Mommy, are you happy?"
Blake is doing good. He is talking so much! He continues to love baseball and Stan has already been talking with agents and scouts. (Just kidding) He is, I'm not just saying this either, really skilled. He holds his bat in one hand and ball in the other and drops the ball and hits it. Not bad for two!
If I get brave I might post a belly shot. I've had a few requests but don't hold your breath. I feel HUGE so the last thing I really want is my picture taken.
The weather is warming up! 84 today is our forecast....which is down from 90 last week. The kids are loving playing at the park and in the sprinklers. The Spray Ground opens here after the holiday weekend.

These pictures were too cute for me to pass up. Teagan put this hat on the other day and said "I'm Grumps!"....for those of you that don't know, that is what Teagan and Blake call my dad. Neither one of them remember him but they know he drove trains. It is really cool that they talk about him in their everyday life. (Also, I didn't beat Teagan, she has just had a little bad luck. She took a head dive off the swing at the park and got a fat lip and then her brother clawed her head.)

Ok, so we had said that we weren't going to find out what gender this baby is. We didn't find out with Teagan or Blake, and really, it doesn't matter since we have all the boy stuff and girl stuff already. But we've already had two U/S and resisted the temptation to ask the sex and days later I was kicking myself! I really want to know this time!! The baby will be sharing a room with the older sibling of the same sex so I thought for planning purposes it would be best to know. So, yesterday I had an appointment and an U/S and I caved! I asked and looked!!! So now we know we are having a girl!! We are all very excited, especially Teagan! The name hunt now begins...so if you have any great girl names we are open for some suggestions!

Finally we are all in Hermiston, together again! We had a wonderful three day weekend and a good Easter. Stan is back working in this area (with a little drive) so he will be home every night! The kids are great and loving the fantastic weather we have been having. I feel good...big...but good! I have a doctors appointment tomorrow with a new doctor. I have been seeing my old one down in Klamath for my entire pregnancy so far. I'm sure it will go great....maybe we'll get to have another u/s. Enjoy some new pictures!!

Answer to prayer!

We had our appointment yesterday in Medford with a specialist to check the baby and the cord. Thankfully, everything went very well!!! There is a 2 vessel cord but there are no other abnormalities or complications. They were double checking the baby's heart (with 2 vessel cords sometimes it can be an issue) and looking for genetic problems. But our baby looks GREAT! The doctor labels it an "isolated incident" which I label a "fluke". They will monitor me and the baby a little closer the rest of the pregnancy and towards the end make sure the baby is growing properly, sometimes babies with this tend to be a little smaller. (I wouldn't mind a little smaller baby, Blake was 8lbs 10oz)

Small update

So I have yet to get new pictures and I know our blog is very boring with out them. No one really wants to hear about us they just want to see pics of the kids. I will put new ones up as soon as we get back to Hermiston. (which will probably be in about 10 days)
We would ask that you be praying for us and our pregnancy/baby. We had an U/S on the 20th and discovered there is a two vessel cord (instead of three). We have been instructed not to worry because everything else looked great and sometimes this just happens. We do have an U/S scheduled for monday the 5th with a specialist in Medford so, hopefully, we will know a little more after that.
It looks like we will be staying in Hermiston after all. I will give more detail on that later but I think it's probably the best thing at this point. We are really not up for another move right now and our house hasn't sold (hmm, maybe for a reason). Guess we will just enjoy our friends that we have made there and when it's time to leave God will align everything. Funny how when we get out of the way His plan works out?!?!

I can not believe how long it has been since our last post. Much has happened...most of which I will not put you through the boring task of reading about.
As I write this we are in Klamath Falls. Stan has been working down here since January and we have been staying here since Christmas. (The kids and I did make a quick trip back to Hermiston to check on our house and pay bills last week.) We thought we were moving back to Klamath but there are other plans in store. As of right now we have a house in Hermiston, Stan works is working in Klamath Falls and his company is based out of Portland. (I think I wrote this same thing back in the summer) We are unsure of where we will be heading in the next couple of months. Probably either back to Hermiston or to the Portland area. I know what my vote is but I'm trying to stay open minded. We are trying to look at this as an adventure and not a stressful thing.
The kids are doing good! Blake had his second birthday on the 25th and he is so good at being two! Teagan is praying that someday she will be able to go to school or dance class. Somedays I wonder is she three and 10?
My belly is growing bigger by the day. We have an u/s for the 20th but we won't be finding out the sex of the baby.
Stan is doing good as well. He has been very busy with work, logging 60-70 hour weeks. He is a real trooper!! We know the long days will end and we are just thankful for the overtime pay right now.
Well.....we will try and post more often. Hope everyone is doing good.

Nothing to exciting

Well, we had a good Thanksgiving down in Klamath. It took a while to travel down as the roads were black ice for about 100 miles. But, thankfully, we had no trouble. We have been recovering a bit, Teagan had some sort of flu bug Saturday and generously passed it on to me. I think Blake might have had a touch of it also but we are all better, hopefully! It has been very cold here but it hasn't snowed yet. Which I think is a bummer...it's fun to play in the snow but not fun to just go play outside in the cold. It was cold enough that they closed the job site Stan is on for two days. It was nice to have him home but we are hoping this doesn't continue. Three day work weeks are not exactly in our budget.
We are looking at some big changes soon. I will post more on those as they come up. We are excited to see God moving in our life even though we continue to get in His way.
Hopefully I will have some pictures soon. I know that the blog is boring without pictures. I don't know why but I have had a hard time posting them lately. I'll keep trying

Happy Thanksgiving!

Once again we are hitting the road for Klamath Falls. This, however, is a unique trip as we will be traveling as a family and not just me and the kids. I can't wait!! Stan has only made the trip with Teagan and Blake one time and that was last December. I'm sure he is so excited to listen to Elmo's chart topping CD and Dumbo play over and over. I can not complain too much as we do have a DVD player in our suburban. What an invention!! I always thought I would be the parent to say no to one "Kids need to enjoy the ride and the sights!" HAHAHA....I need to enjoy the ride and if that means they watch Dumbo over and over for seven hours then so be it!

We will be enjoying Thanksgiving with our family, celebrating Benny's, my nephew, 11th birthday and the best of all.....shopping!!! My mom and I have been making it an annual tradition to get up early and head to Fred Meyer's sale. It's fantastic! I usually buy lots of socks because every sock in the store is half off. It's kind of scary, I get competitive on this shopping day. I want to be there the earliest and find the best deals.....stay out of my way! I almost look at it like hunting (bird hunting)....you have to get up really early to set up and scope out the hunting ground...and when the time is right you make your move.

I was also thinking about what I am thankful for this holiday season. I realized I have an amazing life. A few of the things I am thankful for are;
an amazing husband that always works hard, loves me and our kids and is a silly guy to be around; I have two (almost three, yikes!) fantastic children. They are not only the most beautiful kids but a true joy to be around; I also have a wonderful family, a mom that is always supportive and loving and while this is the third Thanksgiving without my dad, I am so thankful for all he gave me and the unconditional love he always showed; I am thankful for God's love and forgiveness; I also have a great family of in-laws, very loving and they are a silly group to be around, a very funny brother-in-law, and two amazing sister-in-laws.

I think my list could go on and on....

A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine."House" for instance, is feminine: "la casa." "Pencil," however, is masculine: "el lapiz." A student asked, "What gender is 'computer'?" Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether "computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun.Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.
The men's group decided that "computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computadora"), because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic.
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval, AND 4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.
The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ("el computador"), because:
1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves.

So we have entered a new phase with Teagan........the why's! I thought maybe we would skip this entirely but I was dead wrong. She use to always ask "Mom, whatchya doin'?" So, silly me, assumed this would take the place of "Why, Mom?" Everything has been why, why, why. She isn't whining or sassy when she says this, she is just curious. But I'm running out of answers and patience. I don't know why sometimes......just because.....and I hate that! Here is just one example........"Mom can we have hot dogs for lunch?"..."No, honey, we don't have any hot dogs"..."Why don't we have any?"...."Because we ran out"....."Why did we run out?"....."We ate them all and I forgot to buy more"...."Why did you forget to buy more?"........and on and on and on......So I've been trying to come up with answers that are good but maybe can't lead to another question of why. We are still here!

We are alive and well.........just slow at posting a new blog. We have just returned once again from Klamath Falls. We left on the 20th of October to go down for another visit and to spend time with Stan. Actually, Stan and I headed off to Reno for that weekend and left the kids with Grandma. It was a nice time for us, although I don't think we will go back anytime soon. Well, let me clarify......Stan won't go back anytime soon! He is good at making money and I am good at spending money.....sounds like a great balance if you ask me!
The rest of the time we spent just hanging out in Klamath Falls. We visited friends and family and took the kids to a great Harvest Party that is put on at the fairgrounds. The church we attended in Klamath, along with others, does a fantastic job with this every year.

Deer Camp 2006

So we made it back from our great hunting trip. Neither one of us shot a deer this year....Stan missed a buck (twice I have to add!) but I hunted for eight days and never saw a buck. Pretty pathetic! The closest thing I saw was the one my 12 year old niece shot. I'm a little bitter that she shot one and I didn't.....but I'm happy for her!
To answer some questions that have come up......the smokehouse is NOT a bbq. It is more like a homemade outhouse. I have to say it is GROSS!! I opted out of many visits to it this year for personal safety issues. Another question has arose over the term "Round Guy" (For those that don't know, I had hats made for all the men that read "Team Round Guy") This term was coined several years ago and is merely an endearing term used to describe the shape of most of the men at camp. My uncle is team captain (his nickname is Lump), however, there are several guys that with a few more burgers and fries and a couple bad years could easily over take this prestige title.

Off Again

Well, the kids and I are off again. We leave tomorrow for Klamath Falls to 1)see Stan and 2) go deer hunting. My family and friends have camped in the same meadow for nearly 40 years so this is a great tradition. When I say great I mean great as in....we dig a hole in the ground put a toilet chair over it and call it a smokehouse. We have an annual chili night where all the men have a chili cook off. It was once a challenge to see who could make the spiciest chili but now that they all (the older generation) have gotten older their systems can not handle it! So...our gear is packed, the kids are ready and I can't wait to be a redneck wife for a week! We'll have lots of great pictures when we get back. And, hopefully, Stan won't shoot my buck this year!

We had an early birthday celebration for Teagan this weekend. Her actual bday is the 21st but Stan can't come home and Grandma, cousins and friends were all in Salem this weekend.

This was over Labor Day weekend. Hermiston has a very fun Spray Ground that the kids and Stan love to play at. I love to lay in the sun there!

The kids and I are heading to Salem again tomorrow to meet Stan for the weekend and attend a wedding. We don't have much planned other then the wedding and maybe a bbq with Stan's old high school buddy in Portland. I'm hoping it is relaxing!!! I'll put some new pictures up when we get back. I know everyone wants to see new ones of the kids (MOM!!).
